Trying to figure out if there is an issue with the rear output. Drove it 15' forward then back to install the cap. In reverse there was a loud bang. After I sprayed the rear springs and jumped on the back end and heard two more loud bangs that were similar.
Vehicle is on Jack's, rear springs are not tight, shocks are not installed.
I hear a noise, I think, that is not normal. My ears are not good from years of drilling cement and impact wrenches.
I took some videos tell me what you think please.
I have three videos first is 4th at low idle. Second is 4th at about 2500 rpm. Third is reverse at low idle
It has been about 25 degrees this weekend, wind chill about 11 and our usual light dusting of lake effect snow. Still trying to see if this project can be on the road by Christmas.
Tighten up the front springs and installed the front tires yesterday. It took about 45 minutes before my fingers could feel anything. Had to replace one stud because one pulled out. @#&*/@...
Today the bonnet support was installed. The military tank was connected to the switch valve.
The cover that closed in the old tool box under the drivers seat needed to be modified. The cover would not completely enclose the opening. Added an aluminum piece to fill the gaps. Also installed some rivets to fill the spot weld holes.
Received some parts from Trevor at RF, thanks. Rebuilt a few hinges. Having a tough time getting the doors to close after installing the bulb seals. Had to bend the bottom of the rear door out. The passenger door latches after moving the inner latch out as far as possible, but the bottom of the door is out about 1/2" and to the top looks good. It would be nice to do this when it is warmer.
Decided it was time to fire up my old wood stove today for the first fire of the season. Cold outside, toasty warm inside.
After the wings/fenders were tightened up I hooked up the drivers side directional light and side light today. Both seemed to work well, I think.
With the light switch in the first position the side light and tail lights are on, but when I turn the headlamps on ( second position) the side light goes off, tail lights still on. Is this correct, Side lights off when headlights are on?
It has been 9 years since Blimey has been on the road and I do not recall. Wondering if things are wired correctly.
Was able to rework the lights on the driver's side wing. I could not get the directional light removed but was able to get it working during testing. The side light was rebuilt with a old spare internal that worked. Uses a 5007 bulb which is not what the L488 had originally, but it works.
I cleaned up the bezel using the old aluminum foil and water trick. Cleaned up good but is too far gone to save. Will order a new one when new lights for the passenger side are ordered.
One of my neighbors have that same gazebo, they put up the frame and found the roof was missing, when it came they started to put it on and stopped for some reason a couple weeks ago.
