  • TRIP REPORT: 2023 Eurofest

The 2023 Ridgeland, MS Eurofest concluded last night and was a great show. Rover did great on the 3hr drive down and back. I hit 80mph a few times, but my comfortable road speed with the knobby tires was 65mph and it cruises there fantastically. Rovers had a great showing, but I didn't win this year. A custom 130 Defender with a 6.2LS and 10 speed automatic won the Rover class. The guy got it out of Turkey as a complete vehicle, stripped it all the way down and redid it with the LS. It was decent work I suppose and he obviously spent a fortune on it, but it was painted the most god awful shade of vomit seafoam you've ever seen in your life. Just hideous. It would have looked better in even pink, I think. The overall show winner was a 1946 Indian mini motorcycle (paratrooper?) that was made in England I believe. Looks like a tiny scooter.

My uncle entered 5 vehicles! 3 Rovers, a BMW Z4, and his 1950 Vincent Rapide. It is an incredible bike. I didn't ask to ride it, even though he probably would have let me. Sounds amazing.

Friday afternoon was the road drive and two Ferrari's, a Porsche, and I had a hilarious rev off in the parking lot while queuing up for the drive! Sasha (cousin's daughter, 12) said she had never heard a Rover sound like that!

A friend of my uncle shot this video and I wish he had let it run a little longer, because after leaving the hilltop, we both took off pretty quick. Hill is steeper than it looks.

Thanks! I drew it up in Solidworks and had it laser cut, then welded it all up. I have enough material to make 1 more, which will go on the 61 I'm building now. It's 3/16" material, which is thicker than the stock material.

                Kids love it too!

That looks like a great event. Send some of that weather up north!
