That still seems low to me. If you hold down the clutch in gear, start the truck, and then shift to neutral and back into gear it grinds? If I'm understanding that right? Try that in 1st and 3rd gear....

First thing to do is try to narrow it down. You need to find out where the engagement point is for the pedal. Start the truck in gear (1st) with the clutch in and slowly release it until it starts to...

But, but, now they'll have to start making the good Defenders again to sell more of the accessories!

My dad and a few friends went in on several sets of hardened axles back in the early nineties. They had a machine shop custom make them. One day when he was pulling up the driveway, he stopped for something...Last edited by 50 wulf; 09-25-2023, 09:51 AM.

Actually, after some digging, the 110" versions are available and very close to the originals and can be made to work with just a few extra holes needed.
RN has them, but very pricey!

I remembered recently seeing a similar truck in an RN catalog article. I looked it up and here it is:

Sage advice Mark.
I started out a purist and restored two Rovers pretty much to stock, but I realized that I’d rather drive them than look at them and that meant bringing certain things up...

Looks stellar!
Was the little Leyland badge originally fitted above the grill like that? Was that an Australia only thing?

Hard to say really. It would depend on the interested party I suppose. For me personally, my draw is somewhat limited to tastefully modified Dormobiles. I really liked that one that Series Guy got to...

John,
I know this isn't what you asked, but if you're going to that much work, you might just go with an R380 at the same time. I have been very pleased with my R380. If that's an option...

They are about 35-40lbs per side I guess, which isn't bad really. Gene, if you mount them that low, you're going to lose a good bit of side ground clearance I would think. May not be a big deal for...

Gene, I make my stealth slider/sills out of 1/4" thick x 4" wide structural C channel. It's equally as strong as tubing and doesn't trap or hold any moisture inside it (not really an issue if...

They sell two products, a sound deadener, and a ceramic insulator. You can use either or, or both, but if using both, the sound deadener has to be applied first. I used both on the bulkhead and seatbox,...

Lizard skin is great. I used it on the bulkhead, seatbox, and underside of the tub. On the door interiors, I used Kilmat, which is also excellent and I would highly recommend it, as it makes the doors...

Thanks for the links! I tried to make a deal with the US seller, but no dice. I don't need it newly galvanized yet anyway. So went with one of the UK ones.
Bob, we're on the same page...
